Carl Manlan
Chief Operating Officer, Ecobank Foundation

Carl Manlan works at the intersection of public, private and civil society sectors. Through his professional career he contributed to health financing through multi-lateral organisations. Prior to his current role at Ecobank Foundation, he led a public-private initiative to support an African response to Ebola in West Africa. Carl Manlan is the Chief Operating Officer of the Ecobank Foundation since May 2016. He is responsible for Ecobank’s social impact engagement with the communities in which the bank operates in Africa. Carl Manlan holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School. He is a 2016 Aspen Institute New Voices Fellow. He writes on African economic transformation.


Gustavo Raiter 
Business Development Lead, Microsoft 4Afrika  

Gustavo has over 20 years’ experience with the telecom markets internationally working for various telecom hardware vendors. With his incorporation to Microsoft, he dedicated the first couple of years to manage sales teams in Israel dedicated to the Government and Health segments.  Recently he joined the Microsoft 4Afrika team empowering organizations around the continent to unleash their potential through digital transformation. He holds a BA in Mathematics and MSC in Computer Sciences from the CAECE University in Buenos Aires, Argentina.


Nicole Kayode

CEO & Founder of Medixus

Nicole Kayode is the CEO & founder of Medixus; a mobile and web based application connecting healthcare workers with healthcare workers in real time – to collaborate on patient cases.  Medixus acts as a one-stop shop for data aggregation, patient handover and case collaboration among healthcare professionals – ultimately driving improved patient care for all patients, regardless of income by upskilling frontline clinicians. To date Medixus boasts a community of over 1500 medical professionals on the platform and has facilitated over 1000 patient handovers.

Nicole has a background in medical research and a career working in tech startups in both commercial & product development roles. Medixus is the product of combining her background, with her dedication to improving healthcare systems, and belief that communication is the key to driving change.


Awa Dia

CEO, ADN Strategy

Awa Dia is an expert in Communication, Marketing and Project Management with over 20 years of experience with a proven track record in brand building, leading strategic communication and crafting innovative Public Affairs campaigns for multinationals and Pan-African companies in the Oil and Gas, Food and Beverage and Fintech sectors (Total, Elton, Siagro-Kirene, Wari).

Her many achievements in establishing brand identity involved the development of simultaneous marketing and communication strategies in different markets, consistent with the image and strength of the brand while having a tailor-made approach for each market.

Awa is cofounder of the crowdfunding platform www.collect-for-change.com. She is a board member of the Women’s Investment Club Senegal. She is a mentor for the Tony Elumelu Foundation for Entrepreneurship and Seed Project (Sport, Education and Leadership). Awa DIA also collaborates with several United Nations bodies (UNFPA and UNWomen) as part of their regional and country communication strategy.


Osahon Akpata

COO, Consumer Payments at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI)

Osahon Akpata plays a lead role in sourcing new investments and working drives the execution of the bank’s payment strategy across its 33 African country networks, leveraging digital solutions to meet consumers’ payment needs. Prior to joining Ecobank, Osahon led the Implementation Practice at McKinsey & Company’s Lagos office, where he worked collaboratively with several CEOs, business executives and public-sector leaders, to develop and implement successful strategies in very competitive industries.

He began his professional career in Finance at the corporate headquarters of Johnson & Johnson in the US as a financial analyst and transitioned into the company’s sales force where he had an award-winning career over a decade, winning several accolades including the coveted President’s Trophy reserved for the top 5% of the salesforce.

Osahon holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in the US and a post-graduate diploma in Strategic Partnerships from IMD Business School in Switzerland.
