African Women in Digital Health

The African Women in Digital Health (AWiDH) movement was officially launched during the 2nd Annual International Conference on Public Health in Africa (CPHIA) in December 2022. A working group, co-chaired by Speak Up Africa and GIZ, was tasked to co-create the AWiDH flagship of the Digital Transformation Strategy of Africa CDC.  The main objective of AWiDH is to address the digital gender gap through a multidisciplinary platform bringing together stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination for women’s meaningful engagement and leadership in digital health.

In Lusaka during CPHIA 2023, African Young Innovators for Health Awardees take center stage to share their perspective on why women and youth should lead in the digital health sector.
